Nothing screams ‘festive season’ more than a sparkly golden highlighter does! Usually I rarely wear it but during winter I tend to slap some onto my face occasionally. I have two issues with highlighters: first of all it’s one more step in the getting ready-process and I love my sleepy time. Secondly the ones I have used in the past tend too be far to glittery for my taste. I hadn’t found my perfect match yet.
The Amazonian Clay 12-hour Highlighter by Tarte in the shade Exposed intrigued me since it is more of a nude bronzy-golden shade. It is the lightest of the three available shades and thus perfect for my pale-ass winter face.
I love the texture of this stuff! It’s buttery smooth and super blendable. When you apply a little bit it creates a natural glow but you could build it up to a more J-Lo kinda look. I use a bit on my cheeks, the cupids bow, the bridge of my nose and under the arch of the brow. This highlighter illuminates the face without adding too much shimmery glitter so I don’t end up looking like a total idiot.
The only minus point for me is the fragile packaging. I dropped this badboy once and a piece broke off (as you can see on the picture). But other than that I have no complains! Using highlighter is a great way to sparkle up your holiday season!
