Korean Skincare has been a hit in Europe for quite some time, and there are a multitude of reasons for that. In Korea, investing in an immaculate appearance, especially of your skin, is a norm worth splurging on. Just think, the night time regimen can include up to 15 different steps! Something quite impressive, considering that I usually use…3? Ok, lies. Mostly just 1.
Dying to see what all the fuss was about, I was pleasantly surprised to stumble upon a Korean make up store in Kiev – Beyond. Instantly I headed over to the sheet mask section and grabbed a couple. In case you are wondering, sheet masks are thin, one-time usage, microfiber filled gel-like masks.
A bit more about the brand, Beyond, can be found at their website. What attracts me is their ‘Eco-Philosophy’, which they describe with flying colours on the home page. This includes claims such as Against Animal Testing, Minimum Waste, Sustainable Growth, Recyclable Package, Minimum Chemical Fragrance and Colorants, and more.
A Korean, environmentally conscious brand? What more can you want!
The sheet mask I tried today is called Adlay, which promises to brighten, deeply moisturise and leave skin feeling like a piece of fine silk. Looking at the ingredient list, it’s nice to see some natural extracts listed: Bambusa Vugaris Sap, Betula Alba Juice, Chamaecyparis Obtusa Water, and Coix Lacryma-Jobi Ma-yuen Seed Extract. I left it on for 20 minutes, then gently massaged the leftover serum into the skin. There’s a bit of a tingling, refreshing sensation left, overall very pleasant, easy to use, and gives an instant plumping effect. A great series and very amiable looking company, will definitely be trying out more of their sheet masks!
- Easy one-time usage that is great to take with you for travels
- mess free
- cooling and moisturising
- natural ingredients
- not to mention sheet masks are fun to use and make you feel like you have your life in order (I don’t know why..)
- You kind of wish you could reuse it, a pain to stock up!
Fun little tip: When you take the mask off your face, take the used microfiber and rub the remains on your hands and neck, so you’d really use it all up!
I absolutely love sheet masks!
